Neil Levinbook         Ken Schmidt

Cell Tower Attorney originally was formed out of the success of another website, Steel in the Air which was started by Ken Schmidt in January 2004 as a consulting service to assist landowners with issues regarding cell tower leases.

As Steel in the Air became increasingly more popular as a resource for landowners, it became clear that many landowners were also seeking legal advice involving new or existing cell tower leases on their property.

These landowners either did not have an attorney advocating on their behalf or their personal attorney was reluctant to get involved in the specialized area of cell tower lease negotiations.

An attorney by training, Ken saw this as another opportunity to provide value added services to landowners and with the assistance of Neil Levinbook, Cell Tower Attorney was established.

Prior to establishing Cell Tower Attorney and Steel in the Air, Ken worked as a site acquisition manager for a small site acquisition company. Prior to that, Ken managed the broadcast tower division of a mid sized tower company in Tampa, Florida.

Ken is recognized in national media as an expert in cell tower and cell tower lease issues. He has been invited to speak at the Tower Summit on two occasions, by the Georgia Association of Assessing Officials, and by the Association of University Real Estate Officials.

Ken's education includes a BS in Political Science from Truman State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. (Go Gators)

Prior to establishing Cell Tower Attorney, Neil was an attorney with Sprint/Nextel Corporation for over four and a half years where he was responsible for overseeing the Northeast area Legal Department as well as outside counsel for all aspects of the negotiation and drafting of all commercial leases, vendor service contracts and litigation.

In addition, he provided counsel and strategy to internal business clients and other departments relating to facility siting, site acquisition, and land use.

Neil also provided legal support on other various initiatives including NASCAR sponsorship, large-scale municipal deployments, distributed antenna systems and other related services.

Prior to his tenure at Sprint/Nextel, he held a similar position as the Lead Attorney for the Eastern Region at Metricom, Inc. Neil’s education includes a Bachelor of Art in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and a Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University in New York.

Together, Neil and Ken understand the practical, technical, business, and legal aspects of cell tower lease issues and can bring that experience to your issue.
